Taking Heart brings Christians and Muslims together for food and conversation. Organized geographically, Taking Heart groups helps neighbors of different faiths get to know each other, often leading to friendship and partnership. As one Christian participant said, “I want to get to know the people that I may bump into at Cub Foods.”
Churches and Mosques serve as hosts, money is provided to purchase food, and members of the community are invited to join. Groups get together 6-8 times a year and the groups decide what topics or activities they would like to pursue. We currently have groups in South Minneapolis, Burnsville and Bloomington/Richfield. We’d love to start one in your neighborhood.
